Salman has equally involved in charity during his career. He started a Ngo Being human which works to help the underprivileged. Being human foundation is a registered charitable trust that helps the underprivileged. In the earlier time, Salman used his own money to set up and fund the foundation. In the year 2011, Salman opened his production house called Salman Khan being human production. The money generated from the movie under his production house will be donated to Being-Human foundation. Being human sells clothes and other products online as well in stores. The foundation focuses on Health Care and Education.

SK has always been the subject of controversies including legal troubles. Here is a list of his controversies;

• Hit And Run Case- On 28 September 2002, Salman was arrested for negligent and rash driving, his car ran over into a bakery in Mumbai. One person sleeping on the pavement died and three others were badly injured on the accident.

• Aishwarya Rai-Salman Relationship- Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai was publicized topic in media. After their breakup, Aishwarya accused Salman of harassing her. Her family has lodged a complaint against him.

• Blackbuck Hunting and Arms Act Violation Cases- The case involves the killing of a deer when Salman with his co-stars was shooting for “Hum Saath Saath Hain” in forests near Jodhpur in 1998. Salman even had to spent a week in Jodhpur jail. The case is still going in the court.
• Uri Attack- Salman has been in limelight for his remarks on Pakistani actors. He made a statement saying,” Pakistani actors are not terrorist. It’s the government who give them visas.

• Rape Remark Controversy- Salman in an interview said he used to feel like a ‘raped women’ after the shooting of wrestling drama “Sultan”. His statement hits the doors of controversy and the star faced criticism all over for his rape remark. Salman said, ” its sad people when statements are distorted, you may speak or don’t speak but people will write what they want to”. 
• Casteism Remark- During the promotion of his film ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ in a dance reality show. Salman made a statement saying how some awkward step or dance can make them look like bhangi. Because of his Casteism Remark on scheduled caste, a plea was filed against him, Katrina and other members for their alleged remark on casteism saying they have humiliated and insulted them.
• Comment on Sanjay Leela Bhansali- Salman once said Bhansali is surviving only because of Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Khamoshi.
• Koffee with Karan- Salman In Karan’s show Koffee with Karan said, ” I am still a virgin”. The statement gained many reactions from the public and he was trolled on social media.
• Tweets Regarding Yakub Menon- Salman was criticized when he tweeted in support of Yakub Menon. Yakub Menon was convicted to be hanged for 1993 Mumbai blasts. The actor tweeted a row of tweets in support of him saying’ ” It is tiger who is to be executed”. Later he realized his mistake and apologized for this. He even deleted the tweets.
• Salman -Zubair Controversy- Bigg Boss 11 contestant was slammed by Salman for his misconduct and using fault language. Zubair got evicted from the show. According to reports, after the eviction, he had consumed pills and was rushed to the hospital for treatment. Zubair has filed a complaint against the star and said he will drag Salman to the court for insulting him on National television.
